This movie disorients the viewer throughout the entirety of the film. With its eerie lighting, Creative camera work, and perfectly placed music/score. I found myself pausing the movie every once in a while because of how nauseous I would become. But if you can stomach what “Climax” has to offer. I assure you won’t be disappointed. I’ve never been one for foreign films but this one caught me completely by surprise and it’s truly a film I will remember forever. Only because it is the first movie that my body physically struggled to finish. The actors are extremely convincing in their rolls and are absolutely perfect.
Though the movie may seem slow paced. (Especially with the first hour) the director keeps it interesting with good dialogue. Very well choreographed dancing, And extremely impressive, and disorienting camera work. The movie is exceedingly dark and gritty but beautiful and mesmerizing at the same time. It quite truly is (in my opinion) a masterpiece of a horror film. Disturbing, dark, gruesome, and interesting. Would recommend to anyone who thinks they can handle it. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart.
Grasper never disappoints. You know your on a dark and twisted ride from the start. Amazing choreography, color, cinematography, acting and directing. This movie slowly creeps into madness. I recommend this movie but not for the faint of heart.
If Salo was a dancy technicolor acid trip, you’d have Climax. I’m hesitant to call it a fun movie but it’s certainly Gaspar Noé’s most entertaining film, and so far the best viewing experience I’ve had in cinemas this year.
It’s hard to find a genuinely shocking and trippy movie but this is exactly the type of movie I’ve been trying to find for a long time. Awesome movie that needs to be more known.
Gut wrenching, provocative, life-altering. Climax straps you in on a rollercoaster straight to hell and only lets you off once the way you see the world has changed.
