০১. নকল ডিম পানিতে কিছুক্ষণ ভিজিয়ে রাখলে তা ফেটে গিয়ে একধরনের শক্ত, অনমনীয় ও পিচ্ছিল পদার্থ বের হবে।
০২. আরও কিছুক্ষণ রেখে দেওয়ার পর তা একেবারে গন্ধহীন থাকবে। এবং পানিতে মিশেবে না।
০৩. নকল ডিম ভাঙলে এর সাদা ও হলুদ অংশ দ্রুত মিশে যায়।
০৪. নকল ডিমের খোলা আসল ডিমের চাইতে অনেকটাই বেশি চকচকে।
০৫. নকল ডিমের খোলা আসলের মতো মসৃণ নয়। খানিকটা খসখসে।
০৬. আসল ডিমের গন্ধ কাঁচা মাংসের মতো। নকলে তা থাকবে না।
০৭. নকল ডিম ভাজার সময়ে এর হলুদ অংশ না স্পর্শ করলেও ছেতরে যায়।
